This year's sponsorship week takes place both on campus and in Stavanger city, as well as some activities outside the city. As last year, it is also planned this year for more events with fewer participants to limit the number of people gathered in one place. We will provide information on how to get to the various events.
A program is arranged for all themes in the period 16-20 August 2021.
Program is coming, stay tuned;)
The "knutepunktet" is the area in the middle of the campus between the main building Arne Rettedal and the Students' House.
Tappetårnet is the student bar on UiS Campus and is located on the ground floor of the students' house, directly above Arne Rettedal's house. Tappetårnet is open all fadder week, and every Thursday throughout the year. Tappetårnet can offer nice prices and a pleasant atmosphere. The bar is run on a voluntary basis, so here you just have to show up and support the local student community.
Folken is a concert venue in Stavanger Center. Concerts and music quizzes will be arranged here. Folken was opened as a student house in 1988 and is today run by the Student Society Foundation Folken.
You will not lose your place as a fadder kids if you are not joining on Monday or arrive as late as Friday. You will find your fadder group in dialogue with your fadder. If no one contacts you, you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will ask your fadder to contact you. You can also contact fadder on Facebook and we will respond as soon as possible.
Information about the events for your field of study can be obtained from your fadder leaders. They are responsible for registering the fadder group at various events, and will also arrange their own events.
Each line at UiS has its own fadder leader. It is this person you are to relate to, and it is the fadder leader who deals with the group division of fadder.
It is your fadder who divide the sponsor children into groups.
No, the fadder week is not free. More info to come.
Info is coming.
Buses 6, 7 and X60 go to the UiS campus from Stavanger city center. For additional information, we recommend downloading the apps "Kolumbus reise", "Kolumbus billett" and "Kolombus Sanntid"
It depends on which faculty your study program belongs to. Check with your sponsors, or check out their websites.
No, it is not. If you follow the current advice for infection control, the Fadderfestival will be a safe experience. The Fadderfestival makes it easy to follow all the current advice for infection control, so if you wash your hands frequently, keep your distance from others and stay at home if you are ill, it will go just fine. We in the fadderboard follow the corona situation closely, and will make changes to the program if there is a need for it.
No, but we recommend anyone who has symptoms or has been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with an infection to contact the Stavanger Emergency Room on 116117 for further advice.
All events in the Fadderfestival will facilitate a meter distance between participants. Arrangements will also be made for hands to be washed frequently, and disinfectant will be applied at all events. We also collect contact information for all participants for any infection tracking.
We want to repeat last year's infection control success, at the same time as we increase capacity and make room for even more students in August. The difference from last year is that we divide the fadder festival into three areas. There will be two areas on Campus Ullandhaug, and one in the city center. With the three divisions, we will be able to more easily adapt to the infection conditions and make room for more students. For example, if it is allowed with 500 people at an outdoor event in August, we can invite 1500 students, instead of just 500.
All Line Associations and student organizations have stands around the campus during the Fadderfestival and your fadder will show you to most of them. Here you will get more information on how to register.
As a rule of thumb, all studies at UiS must have their own line association. The purpose of the line association is to create social cohesion, and to facilitate social and academic gatherings for students who take the same field of study. Some of the line associations can be found at UiS.no
Tappetårnet and Folken function as a meeting place for the students. If you want to meet new people who do not go to your study this is the place to go.
Folken is the students' patio in the center of Stavanger. During the year they hold many different events and concerts. As a student, you always get a cheaper price at the concerts. It is also possible to rent Folkens premises for your own events.
Tappetårnt is the Student Bar on campus and is run by Students for students, and has regular opening hours every Thursday throughout the semester. Line associations and student organizations can also rent Tappetårnet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for their own events.
Tappetårnet also holds various major events during the year, such as Oktoberfest, Husfest and semester closings.
